Privacy and data
Glub’s spatial organization does not change the basic trust boundaries of Chromium. The distinctions below matter when deciding where to keep sensitive browsing.
Normal Workspaces
Section titled “Normal Workspaces”Normal Workspaces organize context, not identity. They currently share:
- cookies;
- HTTP cache;
- website login sessions; and
- the normal Chromium website profile.
Do not use separate Workspaces as separate security profiles.
Private mode
Section titled “Private mode”Press Ctrl + Shift + N to enter or leave private mode.
Private mode uses a temporary Workspace and in-memory website session. Leaving it discards:
- its temporary Workspace;
- website session data;
- permission exceptions; and
- private download records.
Files already downloaded to the Windows Downloads folder remain on disk.
Passwords
Section titled “Passwords”Saved credentials remain local and are encrypted using Windows secure storage. Glub matches credentials to their exact HTTPS origin.
The current preview does not provide password reveal, export, or cross-device sync.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”Camera, microphone, location, notifications, and clipboard-read access default to denied. An explicit per-site choice is required before Glub allows them.
Open Site Controls from Window Overview to review or change the selected origin.
Protection
Section titled “Protection”Network requests and cosmetic rules are filtered locally. Protection can be disabled for a selected site through Site Controls. Glub does not claim that blocking is undetectable.
Clear browsing data
Section titled “Clear browsing data”Press Ctrl + , to open privacy settings. You can clear:
- cookies and site storage;
- cached files; or
- HTTP authentication.
Clearing these does not delete saved Workspaces. Review each option in the panel before confirming it.
