Install on Windows

Glub currently supports 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Early preview

The installer is not yet code-signed. Windows SmartScreen may identify Glub as an unknown publisher. Download it only from the official Glub Corporation repository and verify its checksum before running it.

Download and verify Glub

1. Open the official Glub Browser Releases page and select the newest preview.

2. Download both Glub-Browser-Setup-<version>-x64.exe and SHA256SUMS.txt.

3. Open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and calculate the installer’s checksum:

   Get-FileHash .\Glub-Browser-Setup-<version>-x64.exe -Algorithm SHA256

4. Compare the displayed Hash with the installer entry in SHA256SUMS.txt. If they do not match, delete the installer and do not run it.

5. Run the installer and launch Glub Browser from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.

Windows SmartScreen

Until production code signing is in place, SmartScreen may show Windows protected your PC.

After confirming the download source and matching checksum, choose More info and then Run anyway. This warning is expected for the preview, but the verification steps above should never be skipped.

Automatic preview updates

Packaged builds check the public release repository for preview updates. When an update is available, Glub shows its version and release notes before downloading anything.

Choose Download update to begin. Glub displays progress and lets you continue browsing while the download runs. When it is ready, choose Restart and update or Install on exit. Choose Later to dismiss that version for the current browser session.

Updating from 0.1.1

Version 0.1.1 cannot discover the public updater feed. Install version 0.1.2 or newer manually once; subsequent releases can update through Glub.

The updater uses these release files:

SHA256SUMS.txt	Lets people independently verify downloads

Uninstalling

Use Installed apps in Windows Settings and uninstall Glub Browser. Files you downloaded from websites remain in your normal Downloads folder.

If you are evaluating the preview, remember that browser profile cleanup and application removal are separate actions. Do not manually delete profile folders unless a troubleshooting guide specifically identifies the exact path.
